a music teacher currently residing in Lakewood, CO. Jake believes that all people deserve music in their lives, and hopes to help you achieve your musical goals. Jake began his musical career in Southern California, went to earn a Bachelor’s degree in classical vocal performance at UC Santa Cruz, and recently finished up his Master’s of Music in Music Education and Composition, by completing thesis Three Embedded Choral Improvisation Etudes.
Jake is currently the music teacher at both Arrowwood Elementary and Lone Tree Elementary in DCSD. He hopes to teach public school for many years, because he wants to make a difference in kids’ lives.
Jake loves all kinds of music. He believes that there is something of value in all art forms, regardless of subjective taste. He also believes that a true master can hop from genre to genre.
Similarly, he is motivated to continue improving on all his favorite instruments: Piano, Guitar, Drums, Bass, Synth, Mallets, Bowed Strings, and Brass. Jake hopes to add woodwinds to his family.
Our fearless teacher also enjoys hanging with his cat Henry “Purcey” Purcell, playing videogames (especially Smash at tournaments), and DnD with the squad when he’s not working on music. His musical hobbies include jamming with anyone and everyone, intentionally singing poorly, and whistling.
